Kainaz Gazder is a constant force on Campaign’s Power List—and for good reason. Under her steady leadership, APAC makes up 7% of global sales, with baby care, feminine care, and family care products making up 24% of the global pie.

Despite her wide market remit, Gazder has an eye for aligning brand goals and products with local needs and preferences. In China, for example, diaper brand Pampers found that parents cut holes in diapers to allow air to flow and reduce heat. This led to the launch of Pampers Air Max, which generated double-digit growth, despite a significant decline in the number of babies being born in China.

In India, the brand’s brave stance of challenging conventional notions of culture and gender has seen a slew of memorable campaigns surface, many of which have picked up Cannes Lions and Spikes Asia metals. As part of Ariel’s iconic #ShareTheLoad proposition, last year’s seventh edition tackles the mental load many women shoulder in addition to physical housework and urges men to become trusted allies in a shared household. We’re also fans of Whisper’s #KeepGirlsInSchool campaign in India that aims to educate mothers and schoolgirls about menstrual health and hygiene. Through these efforts, the brand has educated some 100 million people about menstruation and provided free sanitary pads to girls.

These initiatives haven’t just made waves culturally—they’ve earned hardware too. In 2024, Gazder and her team picked up their second Advertiser of the Year award at Spikes Asia, a recognition of their consistent creative and strategic excellence. Accepting the award, Gazder highlighted her team’s commitment to “unlocking creative expansion and pushing boundaries”. With her steady presence, local fluency, and commitment to brand responsibility, Gazder shows year after year how marketing can both serve people and shape progress.
