Momoko Kameyama

General manager
Material
Japan

Momoko Kameyama’s career trajectory is marked by her ability to transcend traditional boundaries, leading to her historic promotion as the first female and youngest general manager at Material, an award-winning Japanese PR agency. In this role, she oversees organisational management, talent development, and new business creation, while also engaging directly with clients as a business producer. Kameyama first joined Material in 2015 as a new graduate and quickly established herself as a versatile PR producer across various industries, including beverages, telecommunications, cosmetics, and finance.

These days, however, Kameyama's influence extends beyond PR, as she serves as a project management office, developing marketing communication strategies and aiding companies in overcoming management challenges.

In June 2025, she founded Material Links, a sister company specialising in social commerce support where she also serves as CEO.  Already, the new firm’s pioneering work with TikTok Shop has started with a bang, selling out their first product launch on their very first day, and has quickly positioned Material Links as a leader in next-generation shopping experiences.

As one can already tell, Kameyama's leadership is characterised by her ability to identify and capitalise on new opportunities, such as the launch of smartphone mini dramas, which have yielded seven partnerships and has significantly enhanced Material’s market recognition.

Her commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment is evident in her initiatives to promote career ownership and diverse career paths within the company through a ‘Career Ownership Culture’ system she designed back in 2018.

Beyond the company, Kameyama has become a visible role model for women in leadership, regularly speaking at industry events and lecturing at universities. Her vision and innovative approach have not only driven the success of Material, but she’s helping redefine how PR contributes to business innovation and social impact.
