As living proof that this time of year brings out the spirit of giving and caring for others, the media and marketing community have once again come together to support an impactful and worthy cause.
Haymarket Media Limited, in collaboration with Haldanes, hosted the annual Media and Marketing Charity Lunch 2025 at The Murray Hong Kong on December 12 in support of Mother's Choice. The local charity has been providing hope and holistic services to thousands of children, youth and families since 1987.
With the vision of ensuring every child is in a loving family rather than institutional care, Mother's Choice works on behalf of some 4,000 children living outside of family homes due to neglect, abuse, violence in the home, abandonment, economic hardship or incarceration. The charity advocates for their care and helps to find placement in permanent family settings. A central part of its mission is to provide non-judgmental support for thousands of young women each year coping with crisis pregnancies, in need of guidance and direct assistance.

Co-hosted by Haymarket Media managing director Atifa Silk and Haldanes partner John McLellan, who kicked-off the event with opening remarks, the lunch event included a quiz, games, silent auction and a live auction.
Mother's Choice CEO Sky Siu spoke about the charity's mission and gratitude for support. "For nearly 40 years, we've joined hands with our community with a vision of ensuring that every child is in a loving family," Siu said. "Family is more than by birth; it’s an entire community coming together to support children and provide them with hope. We sincerely thank Haymarket Media Limited and Haldanes for their commitment to championing the media community in Hong Kong to walk alongside Mother's Choice."
Auction partners included Andara, Arcane, BFI, Como, Financial Times, Galaxy Macau, Ginsberg+Chan, Howard's Folly, The Hart, Kindhood, Lane Crawford, The Murray, The Peninsula, Relish, Volpe Sartoriale and Warner Bros. Discovery. Some of the top prizes included London experiences at the BFI London Film Festival and FT Weekend Festival, match tickets to AIA Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, a wine experience in Portugal or a witnessing tennis at the Australian Open.
Among the dozens of industry notables in attendance were Assembly Global CEO Richard Brosgill, Burson Hong Kong CEO Simeon Mellalieu, Havas Media CEO Andrew Cawte, Publicis Groupe managing director Rhys Taylor, Zenith MD Yvonne Lau, SOPA managing director Gushi Sethi and Strategic Public Relations Group executive director Eveline Wang.
Haymarket Media thanks all the attendees, sponsors, and partners for uniting in generosity to help some of the most vulnerable children and families of Hong Kong and make a real difference in their lives.
